Default MCACN X1; What a Year It As Been!

Not even sure where to start...

I want to express my sincere appreciation to all who allow us to make this show happen.

This has been an incredible year, and now that we are officially into our second decade, I'd like to take a few minutes to express my gratitude.

First and foremost, I salute the original group of guys that allowed this dream to become reality. Most of you know the story, so I won't rehash it here, but suffice it to say, it is a story way better than any told on "reality" tv shows.

When the guys got together to form what would become the MCACN, LLC Members group, it was almost like hitting the lotto for me. To create a group of like minded enthusiasts willing to step up to build what is now commonly referred to as "The Pebble Beach of Muscle Cars" or even "The Center of the Muscle Car Universe" is indeed the stuff that dreams are made up of.

Of course, I am the face of the show, but none of this would have ever happened without the guys behind the scenes; Mike G., Charley L., Stefano, Steve S., Colin C., Tony L., and Bill S. all stepped up back in 2009 and remain as vital proponents of what we now have. Yes, there were several others, but the team we have now has been on board since the beginning and each and every one of them support what I do, and are committed to keeping this train rolling.

Creating a start-up business where the ultimate goal is not to be making money may not be the most practical business model. Obviously, this was never meant to be anyone's retirement plan and fortunately for me, these guys allow Vicki and I to live a comfortable life. Of course our standards are pretty low! lol

With that being said, I want to thank each and every one of the MCACN Members.

Of course, none of this would ever happen without the support of Vicki and Ian. They get it, and even if this isn't their dream, they support me in mine in far more ways than any of you can imagine.

It often surprises people that this is my full-time job, and I can honestly say that I have never worked so hard and for so many hours as I do now. This is a year-round deal and the hours are well beyond what any sane person would do. When September rolls along, Vicki will put in 50-60 hours per week and by October, 70+ is a given. Seriously...this all doesn't just happen!

I would also like to express my appreciation to our staff and judges. None of these folks are in this for the money, and we have found that some of our best staff members often ask to not be paid, as they just want to be a part of the show. This year was by far the smoothest and most cohesive in our 11 year history. The interaction between our team members, along with the communication was something I am truly proud to be a part of.

I often say our show is the "Great Equalizer" and that statement is stronger than ever now. We have somehow managed to create a must-do family friendly event that brings together so many people from so many places it is truly amazing. Long term friendships are formed, people who meet only once a year come together and countless stories are told and memories made.

Seriously...can it get any better?

Well, (putting my promoters hat back on!) YES...yes it can, and it will. 2020 brings new excitement and planning is well under way. In fact, we even have some things coming together for the 2021 show!

Sorry for the long winded post, but sometimes it is nice to just be able to say THANK YOU. Whether you are a MCACN Member, a participant, a sponsor, a judge, a vendor, a media friend or an all important spectator, you have all played a key part in the success of a show that many thought would never succeed. And we are just getting started!

2020..here we come!

Bashton

I am drinking the Kool Aid friends!!!

I have tried many avenues to enjoy MCACN... spectator, had my car in Barn Finds, L89 invitational display co-organizer, Post Sedan invitational display co-organizer, car at RamRod W31 invitational display, one of three organizers to get Project W31 “students” on the stage to share their story, assisted Olds judging, helped with move in, Zone 1, Zone 2 move in Dude, I follow all the social media and share the heck out the MCACN experience with anyone who will listen......... I tell myself each year to plan more time to look around and talk to people but I can’t help myself!!!

More MCACN Kool Aid please!!!

Bob: You have the best sandbox, and I am so happy to bring my shovel and pail.

I've said it many times to many people, don't go to this show unless you want to be hooked to go every year. You can't miss it once you've attended.
It is the highlight of my year.

As Texas NCRS Judging Chairman I know what goes into an event, and our Regional is a fraction of the size of MCACN, thank you to everyone involved.

Just keep doing what you do, and we'll take it from there.

Of course if you'd like to bring a car for 2020, assuming a particular Competition Blue Mercury is done, that would be nice.

Thanks Bob and team!

MCACN is the Super Bowl of car events. No show throughout the year is better.

It's a blast to attend as a spectator and even more special to bring a car. Hope to do it again soon!

Best,
Dave
