Not that I know of. The L79 was available in the 2 door post, 2 door coupe, and SS models, but to my knowledge not available in 4 door or wagon models.

If you look at a 1966 Chevrolet order guide it shows the L79 motor as available on all ChevyII models with no exclusions, at least at that source. Remember, we do know 350hp in 66 and 325hp in 67 motors were in Chevelle wagons so why not Nova ?

No 327 350Hp in any 66 Chevelle. Not Available. In 65,67 and 68 Yes. But for some unknown Reason not in 66.

Jenkins told us that he drove to N.Y. to look at a 66 wagon with the heavy duty towing package that consisted of a 327/350hp motor, 4 speed and posi rear. This was in the 80's when he had a non SS 66 350hp car that he was going to restore. I saw that 66 car Grump had. Said the wagon was original owner, but he wanted to much for it. He said to Pete and I that you could virtually get anything you wanted back then as long as you knew what to ask for and if you had a good salesman. Those wagons must exist.

The paperwork says that it was available, but as far as I know there are no documented examples. Sort of like LS7 'velles.

I never saw it I just know that Grump went to look at one in N.Y. Sometimes in the old days things were listed as heavy duty instead of high performance. (with the same options) He wanted to buy it but to expensive he said. I guess he lost interest and did sell his 66 non SS car he was going to restore. This was in the 80's.

I believe there was a post a year or two ago on this board, where someone said that an Electric-company in the midwest had ordered L-79 wagons. I believe he stated that they had Hurst shifters delivered to the factory to be installed in the cars.

I worked at Willow Run from '64-'66 (Production Foreman, Engine Dress line and Chassis Line), and I clearly recall that we built a Fleet Order of 20 or so white '66 Chevy II station wagons with tinted glass for an outfit with a name like "Southwest Oklahoma Gas & Electric" that were all L-79 4-speeds with A/C (the A/C in those days was the "Cool-Pack" under-dash hang-on unit). The F&SO also called for Hurst shifters, and the customer's rep delivered a pallet of retail-boxed Hurst shifters to the plant to build them with. We installed the Hurst shifters on the engine dress line, and the dual exhaust systems were a PITA coming down the Chassis Line, as we had to drill holes in the left rear rails and install Rivnuts to anchor the left side muffler and tailpipe hangers. The roll-testers loved them! Somewhere in Oklahoma the meter-readers had lots of fun with those cars!

This reminds me of the 4 door, 4 speed 409 Biscayne that was at Barrett Jackson this past January...according to the description, it was used by a Texaco employee as his business car in the oil fields...

Here's the description of the car:
