427 Camaro Z11 from Dale Chevrolet, Dales Dusters?
First time post here guys, so bear with me. Just saw this posted over at the Pace Car site. Shows a ad from Dale Chevrolet in Waukesha Wisconsin building "Dale Dusters", 427 equipped Camaro's, Chevelles', and Novas'. I have never heard of these SuperCars from Dales, the "Dale's Dusters" Just wondering if anyone here has heard of them. The ad states Dale's was Wisconsin's largest Corvette dealer. Also suggests a 427 equipped Z11 pace car. Maybe this is common knowledge, I just never heard of them before. Don't know how to post a photo, but here is a link to the ad. http://camaropacecars.com/eve/forums...235#1750097235

Dale was part of the Yenko dealer network, in fact, a few members here have cars from Dale, including Yenko's and COPOs. I've never heard of a engine swap/transplant car coming from there, but maybe someone else has? I'm guessing the term "Dale's Dusters" was likely a COPO 427 car or maybe even a Yenko. The term was likely more of an ad gimmick than a specific car or package. I don't see any mention of a 427 pace car.

Re: 427 Camaro Z11 from Dale Chevrolet, Dales Dusters?
Having grown up nearby I am familiar with Dale Chevrolet. In my opinion Dale should be right up there with Berger, Nickey, Scuncio. They had 2 Gibb ZL-1s, L72 Camaros, JL-8 Z/28s. The only 427 transplants I know of are 1 '68 Nova and possibly another '69. They always had a large selection of HP Chevs in stock, new and used and were active in drag racing. Few of Dales cars seem to have survived. It is unusual to see one even around here.
BTW they were not a Yenko dealer until 1970. Most of the Yenko cars in the Milwaukee area came from Yunker in Oconomowoc. Humphrey Chev was a Yenko dealer for '67. Dale closed in '75 or so; now a food store.

I have a case of Sports Dept 45 records addressed to Dale, they must have been passing a ton of these out in 69...or not...LOL

One of my cheddar friends just recently picked up a 1970 Sports Dept.lighted sign that was originaly hung @ Dale for years. One of the employees took it home, and his son sold it at a garage sale.

Many of Dales' HP cars received an additional badge that looked similar to the Z/28 rocker cover sticker. I think it had "Dale Chev Sports Dept" on it; something like that.
