Default 1971 Chevelle Carolina Blue LS5 SS Convertible

Arlington built 71 LS5 SS TH400 3:31:1 Carolina Blue Convertible
ZL2 Cowl Induction, F41 Suspension
Matching trans, rear, 5500 rpm tach, big block steering column
Original motor missing - spoke to owner who had car in 1974 and he blew the engine in 1975 and had another 454 installed (built up motor)
Car hasn’t been outside since 1985 - remarkable solid body

As typical with Arlington cars I only found a few fragments of broadcast sheet inside of rear seat that was left after rodent ate it. Nothing under floor insulation.

The owner that had the car told me he had an accident about 1982 in front and they replaced the front markers at that time with 72 model parts.

Cool Car,would like to see more of it.
That shiny exposed area on the Trim Tag looks like where they would tape a build sheet to during assembly.

He shoots... he SCORES!!! Sorry guys, I really miss hockey.

Nice find. Do you know what dealership it was originally sold at? If not, have you requested a NCRS report? My Carolina Blue 1970 LS5 Convertible was originally sold at Alamance Motors in Burlington, NC which has since been converted from a dealership to a tire shop.

Looking forward to seeing more details and hearing what you have planned. If that’s still the original factory Carolina Blue paint, I hope you can salvage and preserve as much original paint as possible. This is only the 2nd Carolina Blue Chevelle SS 454 convertible I know of.

Original selling dealer believed to be Everett Chevrolet in Hickory NC.

Just so happens the dealership was 30 mins off our route back to NJ so we stopped in.

They are looking for paperwork on the car and the owner is still alive from 1971. They are going to ask if he remembers the car. They may have pic of it from
1971.
