You know, you always hear that it was insurance rates that affected the popularity of performance cars for several reasons and that higher premiums were partly responsible for the dark years in the early 70s...

And look what is in my car's file... (in the days before spell-check too)

Great story and Canadian content with references to Gorries (Toronto), Central (London)
Canadian Tire and Dominion Insurance. The one reference you left out was the take out coffee your dad bought the (presumed) OPP Officer. I will bet it was Tim Hortons.
