Hope you guys enjoy these from 69 had all of these on my RAIV car like tubular automotive headers. Lakewood blow shield and bars, sheifer clutch and flywheel , w a zoom pressure plate oddly enough . Stewart Warner 240a fuel pump, Stahl or moroso front tires (still have some) and M&Hs out back. Mastercraft trailers were all the rage at the time most stockers super stockers and pro stockers were using master craft trailers at least in the north east
Anyway enjoy these period correct ads.

Ran out of room couldn’t leave out stahls stuff from the GRUMP. Used to talk to grumpy at E town sometimes he raced w bill Eckstrom who raced my car. Was always a nice guy. He remembered that Eckstrom told him about a el Camino yoke being stronger for his 12 bolts or something to that effect and it saved him some headaches.

Since I love the old ads, I’ll go through individual magazines posting all of the cool ads in each.

Starting here with the August 1970 Hot Rod

Last photos are from the classifieds in the back. A brand new GM L88 engine for 1300 bucks, and a Corvette from some type of GM show car.

Wow, those ads bring back so many memories of reading all of those mags when I was a kid in the 70's. My sister's boyfriend used to give me all of his old mags as well as going to the Library to check them out. Those mags lit a fire for Day Two stuff that still burns today.

Here’s another one of my favorites. I included a couple of dealer ads. I find it interesting how much more In your Face later ads are vs these ones from 1968. Things of note in these ads:

Plymouth had a badass 426 Hemi ad right on the inside of the cover. If it didn’t grab your attention I don’t know what would.

I’ve never seen a Fenton Hustler III out in the wild

A 427 Chevy short block is 339.95

The center Car Craft showcase photo is sweet

The baddest Edelbrock carb was the 3 barrel because the 4500 wasn’t paid for by Ford yet.

Grant Flamethrower distributors were 2-3x more expensive than a Mallory dual point at the time.

Did anyone ask for Mr Ed, the Mod Rod man at Brigance Chevy?

Mr Norm is advertising Hemi Super Stock Darts. I’m sad I missed a world in which I could call and order that car from him. Also, he advertises it with a “4 speed click click trans”, what is that?

Glendale speed shop, builder of the 55 in Two Lane Blacktop has a small ad at the back of the magazine.

Enjoy the pictures.
