Caliper/MC date code help
Digging through some old parts and wondering if these are original calipers and master cylinder for my March of 72 built Chevelle.
Thanks in advance for any help. |

Jake look back at this thread and it will school you what to look for in dates for calipers.
https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=140478 The Master cylinder will have a code hopefully on the top semi circle like this to help you out. Here is a sample of a 1970 "BB" MC

Also the date casting number of the back of the MC is after the D18 code off to the far right which is a Julian date.
In this case 47 is the 47th day of the year February 16

MC cap,
Not sure if 72 had the same "Born With" master cylinder cap as a 1970 but here is what it looks like.

The single piston calipers are Julian cast dated on the mounting leg boss - as well as Assembly stamp Julian dated - on the bottom of one of the mounting bosses.
