Took the family to visit with relatives near Downtown Calgary yesterday and walked through East Village before settling in for a great dinner and fireworks overlooking the city. It was a great Canada Day. Eh!

(My wife and kids with my brother in East Village)

(My family at the Studio Bell in Downtown Calgary)

(Me and my wife with the kids. That's the Centre Street Bridge behind us where the fireworks were later set off)

(Calgary skyline where we sat on the hill near my brothers place to watch to fireworks last night)

(Was going to post my video but this one was far better.) Best near the end at the 13:20 stage.

And an advanced Happy 4th of July to friends south of us this coming week.

I'm 31 days into a RV Caravan of the Canadian Maritime Provinces. We moved to Charlottetown, PEI today, from Halifax area where we spent the past 7 days including Canada Day yesterday. We have been received very warmly by the Canadian people, especially the people of Labrador and Newfoundland.

Watched the end of the Great Race which started in Buffalo on June 23rd and ended on the waterfront in Halifax yesterday.

If you've never seen the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo, it's something to put on your bucket list. The show is awesome.

Thank you to all our Canadian friends that made us feel so welcome.

As far as I know the Eastern Provinces lead all of us Canadians in their hospitality, and general fun nature. We travel down east often and always enjoy every minute! We plan to go to a family wedding on Cape Breton Island this fall.

I have yet to get to Newfoundland but Des Ryan and Paul Martin would make good tour guides when we do hit the rock.

PS: there is a documentary of the unparalleled welcoming of all the people flying in the area during 911. (That is how we see the relationship between USA and Canada)

I'm reading the book right now, "The Day The World Came To Town 9/11".. It's the great story of how the people of Gander, NL and the surrounding communities opened their arms and their homes to the 10,000 passengers that were forced to the ground by the US closed air space on 9/11.

It's an awesome story of the selfless residents of Gander, Newfoundland.

Also, the Newfie's are a fun bunch, I've been Screeched and kissed the Cod and am now an honorary resident.
