1969 Camaro X11 SS350
A friend of mine in restoring this car. It currently has a stock flat hood on it. Is that correct? or should it has an SS hood? The car is paint code 59 Frost green, with a green vinyl top and black Hockey Stick stripe.
I am sure I also have a few more questions, thanks Dan |

If your sure it is a SS car, yes it would have a SS hood. As you might know not all X11's are SS. But X11 included SS350.

Interesting facts Mike. I am just guessing that is was an SS350 with the X11 on the trim tag. It is badged as a SS and it is a numbers matching 350. I has front disk brakes. Are there any tell tale signs that would say it is or is not an SS?

12 bolt rear, dual exhaust, 5 leaf rear springs. If it's a 4 speed car it would have the speedo cable clips on the firewall that route the cable to the passenger side on the Muncie transmission. Non SS car would have a Saginaw 4 speed and no cable clips.

If it's a 350 with 2bbl carb it's not SS. SS would have a quadrajet.

x11 is a style trim code, so not all X11 were SS 350's. If the hood is missing and the hood springs are not 28 coils its probably not an SS, assuming they are original.

Can you post a pic of the engine stamp? If it's the original VIN stamped engine, suffix codes: HE, HB, HA would indicate L48 350 used in SS.

If the fuel lines from the gas tank to the fuel pump are original, a single 3/8 fuel line would designate a 350 2 bbl car, and a dual fuel line 3/8 with a smaller return line back to the gas tank would designate a quadrajet carb( NOT necessarily a true SS X11 car though, as other models had quadrajets too). Don.

Post a pic of the entire underhood area. I'm betting it's not an SS.
