Awesome photos and history, thanks for sharing.

Ahhh, LMP (post #2 here) - London Motor Products, remember that place well in London.

In my personal stash, I have a key fob from them, circa 1968, back when they were still right downtown.

Cheers all,
Anthony

Fentons - even better, one of my favorite cars. Happy to hear you still have it. Does it still look that way? I like stock cars but I see guys restoring these race cars to stock and I’m thinking it’s like making Superman eternally Clark Kent. . These cars (especially the dealer owned or sponsored cars) were what everyone wanted when they went into a dealership to buy a car they dreamt of making their car like those . I can’t even imagine restoring the Stephen Pontiac car back to stock Vs as raced . I did a poll once on a website as to which way people would restore, any one of these cars in the photos if found today stock or race . It was overwhelmingly, race . Yet many (some in these pictures) get restored stock .

I almost feel a Responsibility to restore it to as raced to preserve the history of these cars.

I think I have a picture of the 1/4 window on your car somewhere also w the class winner decals etc originally I was drawn to your car because of the Indian. Kind of like the old us GM owners woukd rather fight than switch Indian w the black eye. Was that Jess tyrees car ?

I did have a newer post pic of your 1/4 window but in I was thinking of was from Dover I think .this other car looks just like yours also. (The adam’s car) in these pics.

The top one from the Dover site is local to me and I feel like it needs some publicity cause that car kicked ass for what it was and it was such a sleeper .

I believe jess called this guy chief wampum which I’m pretty sure the American Indian tribes of Ct called their money . But Jess wasn’t from here he was a Really nice guy who was good friends with a few of my good friends, he was kind enough to sign my glove box door in my race car and a shirt and some other stuff for me. One of his well known race cars was actually owned by Tom S of RAV notoriety among other things .

The paint on Jess blue flopper was very similar to the 69 Stephens car. Since it was an earlier (bodied) car I always wondered if it was part inspiration for the paint work .

I named my dog after Lew Arringtons BRUTUS when I was a kid 😆. Think I was a Pontiac guy for life or what. I actually like all makes of cars.
Many may not know this but jungle jim
LIBERMAN used to drive this car at times .

Big fan of jungle even if he did switch brands .
They say he owned the corvette he died in and had sold it because it did something weird and spun out, he bought another one later on because he missed it and it was the same car, that’s the car he passed away in. That story was from an interview w jungle PAM I believe it was in super stock and drag illustrated . Steve collision was a great editor and such a good guy.
LIBERMAN is also in caps because he was very particular about people spelling or saying his name wrong.

Getting hard to remember what I posted and what I didn’t.
I love these front runners on the mystery tornado in the first pick so had to post it.
