Default 1964 Chevelle SS

First off, in my defense, I was left unattended...

Terry, a friend in the local Chevelle club's son owns this. He took it all apart, sold the 230 6 engine, had a new 283 built, a 1 piece floor pan tacked in and then moved to Oregon and abandoned it for his dad to move around, find storage for and so on. His dad is tired of dealing with it and the son is now married with 3 children and realizes he will never do anything with it.

Terry asked me if it was worth $2,500 and I said it was but probably wouldn't bring much more, as a basket case. Terry just want's out from under it. He talked with his son about it a couple days ago and he agreed, so he said I could have it for that. Yep, couldn't help myself.
I didn't take any pics when I looked at it, because I never expected him to be willing to sell it for that. Terry has the 283 at his house with the build papers and dyno sheets. Made around 250 hp and cost more to build the engine that I am paying for the whole car, with a clear title...
As Jim Cary said in "The Mask", somebody STOP me !!

Be a couple weeks, before I can go get it all. Lots of loose parts in 2 locations, 60 miles apart, so it will take some time to get it all here. Then I have no place to store it inside... or time to work on it... situation normal for me...

PG, which he still has, but a 64-65 case Muncie M20 comes with it. I don't think he obtained the pedals to convert and no bellhousing etc. I just happen to have a 621 bell here, but will need the clutch pedal and all linkage, z bar frame bracket.
Original buckets and auto console, but it has a manual console too.

I agree. Just too good a deal to pass up. With your skill set you can have that baby on the road pretty quickly, assuming you can get parts at a reasonable price.
I would be tempted to put the auto trans in it just to save time. Hate to see it setting outside.

You're probably right, Lynn. I don't want it sitting around not moving under it's own power and the auto would be the best way to achieve that quickly.
Working on getting the rollback running again to sell right now. Thought the timing chain had jumped, but once I got into it, it has been replaced, but appears to have been installed 1 tooth off and the chain is very loose. What a cobbled mess that turned into... as usual.

OK, it's all here...
Photobucket used to resize pics for forums, but I haven't had any luck finding that feature, if it still exists, so get ready to scroll your screen...sorry.

Basket case. How many people are crazy enough to buy something like this ?

The "roll cage" was to install the 1 piece cabin floor. It's tacked and drill screwed in place. From the little I can see, it seems to be a decent job.
Coil over rear suspension conversion included.

Trunk lid is trash, but Terry has a brother in CA and he found this mint lid for the car. Terry drove down for a visit and brought it back.

1 piece trunk floor...

Early Muncie M20

Engine.... 283 with unknown internals. Dyno'd at 290 hp 285 torque at 5,500 rpm. Heads and intake appear to be Chinese knockoffs. I haven't found any identification on them yet.
Should be fun to find headers for angle plug heads... Gonna look for an used (cheap) set.
