Yes indeed, I just sat a DA and a DG side by side and the "bulge" is very clear, and I now know why it's there. I am happy to have learned something today! Thanks Dave!!

Bill, Do you know what color the DG wheels are
on the outside and inside? Does the color differ if you have the mag wheel covers in relation to trim rings and center caps? Thanks, Dave.

Assembly line installed '67 Chevelle DG wheels were a shade of satin black on the back side, with the exception of some or all Fremont (CA) installed DGs were grey. All DGs were true argent silver on the front side, and were exclusively part of the J52 disc brake option and only trimmed with trim rings and center caps like attached pic.

Also, Chevelle DG trim rings are not the same as Camaro DG rings.

Drum brake cars used a std. steel wheel along with wheel covers or caps. (A whole 'nother subject!)

Bill, My car is a Fremont car so I think I'll paint the inside gray and the outside satin Black for the Mag type covers. Thanks Again.

So, they used a 7"trim ring on a Chevelle (closed hole for valve stem) and a 6" for the Camaro? (Open hole)
