Not sure what I will do. Right now, it's a mild 396 with TKO600 and 3.73 12 bolt. I have a L78 sitting and the 427 from the Polishing Sneakers coming out of my '67 Nova.

Nothing better than our youth knowing and loving our cars

Well done!

When I was in college, I had a 68 LeMans Sprint (HiPo OHC 6). It was a 2 door post with buckets and 3 speed on the floor with no console. I always regretted that is was a post car, and also wanted to upgrade to 4 speed and console, but never did. Now, if I could have it back, I would prefer it just the way it was.

198 LeMans posts were built with the Sprint and a manual tranny, per the GM Heritage Center.

Mine was red with red interior, and white vinyl top, and white sprint stripes. Had the chrome post trim. 0ne of 198? Now I am sick!

There isn't a person here who doesn't wish they could have a "do over" a time or two (or even more). You're in good company.

Thanks for all the help, info and ideas.

SADLY, the car is taken off the market. We were on the same page with everything and I had my cash "in-hand" on the day, and I got the text that he didn't want to sell "just yet". So we talked in person and all's good.

So we made a deal (I also just bought our 16 unit shop complex, SO HE'LL BE MY TENANT) that when the time comes to sell, I get 1 month to decide and it's for the same price we agreed to now. So maybe 2 to 3 years down the road I think. (I gave some investment advice that he MIGHT make the same $$$ of this deal as he was selling me the Chevelle for in 3 years. Due to his CNC machining business lead) He actually offered me the Chevelle back when he is ready to sell for 1/2 of what we agreed if the investment stuff comes true.

So in the end, I wait and get a nice car in the somewhat near future, and didn't quite NEED the car now, just didn't want to regret it and pass it up either.
