Default '70 Barracuda Gran Coupe, #s 383/4-sp

Sweet E-body with some nice options, even a 6-way power driver's seat. Would this car have come with the side stripes and wing? I would have preferred it more sedate, minus the graphics and with no spoiler. Pretty rare car nonetheless.

Interesting that the seller didn't reinstall the trim tag for fear of it being stolen. Is this a real issue?

The 6-way seat isn’t power, Tony. It’s a manual adjustment. There’s 23 levers on the side of the seat. And once you get the seat in the right position it jambs and you’re forever stuck in the new, non-ergonomic position looking like a cross between Kojack, a hip-hop gangster, and a low-rider driving through town!

Also like the floor plug over the hood spring so the paint doesn’t get scratched!

Cheers
Dave

Yeah the infamous 6-way adjustable seat with 160 possible positions, none of them comfortable.

And yes, it was a big problem years ago at car shows with A-holes stealing the data plates off of other people's cars. It just took some moron with a Phillips head screwdriver, a few seconds, and it was gone. So a lot of owners kept their data plates in a safe location just for that reason.

But on this car it seems that they used way too much filler on the tops of the inner fenders and on the upper shock towers, that the screw holes were no longer locatable, or that the tiny screws wouldn't find any metal to screw to screw to with all that filler there.

Agreed....my 70 Hemi Challenger had that, and one of the reasons I sold the car was that it was never a comfortable car for me to drive.
