You had stated that it was not caged. You can see the roll bar through the windows. Interior/seats behind the car.

Re: WIW - 68 Z/28 Day 2 Garage Find?
Yeah, I think you're right on the cage. Never did look inside the car; when I was there, I was focused on another car.
Pulled up my notes on the Z. More details - according to the owner, it ran 14.30's as delivered. Has 5.87 gears, not 5.13. Ran 11.22 with a tunnel rammed 302. 11,000 miles. 2d owner who has it now bought it from his brother, who was the original owner. Conflicting details on the engine. Notes say the original 302 was blown up in 1970 or so and that it has a non-original 302 in it now, but think the owner told me that it had an LT1 now and that he had the original 302. Not that it really matters. I haven't been able to buy the car yet. Guy who owns it knows I want it, but these stories never seem to have happy endings -- I expect to hear one day that he sold it to a friend for $5,000. Scott

You have to 70 GTO that Jim did the motor on? I am in Richmond and Jim and LD do all of our motor work. Jim is very proud of the motor in your car.

</div></div> Yep, that's me. Jim is a good friend; met him in 2005 or so when I was living in Charlottesville. He's done a few motors for me (RAIII and RAIV) and did a 67 HO 400 for a buddy. Great guy and second to none when it comes to coaxing HP out of a Pontiac. Scott

Resurrecting this thread for an update - spoke with the owner yesterday and the car is back on the road. Owner confirmed that the car had 11k miles on it; now up to 12k.
Repainted original colors of bronze with black stripes. Original 302 was indeed blown up years ago. Has a 69 model 302 now, but owner is working on assembling a numbers correct 68 302 for it.

Yeah, I spent 5 years overseas - 2 in Korea and 3 in Italy. Was away from my cars for a while.
