Rich,

Without a spoiler it mounts through the lower holes shown under the deck lid and closest to the rear lip (circled in white). When the factory spoiler was added, it moved the emblem 3.27 inches forward to the next set of angled holes (circled in orange) and the bottom of the emblem should then be 1-1/4" forward of the front edge of spoiler. The O on the right side of Camaro should measure 4" in from the outer edge of the decklid, and that should have it about 1/4" to the inside of the right edge of the wide stripe. Here's a photo of an original flat decklid with the spoiler added, You can see the old holes where the emblem was from the factory. They are plugged in this picture and the emblem would need to be re-drilled 3.27" forward once the spoiler is added. Your holes on a flat decklid should be right where these filled in holes are. Only pics I could get for you here.

The second picture notes where they would relocate to when a factory spoiler is added.

There’s a picture of a survivor non-spoiler Z/28 decklid (one of Steve’s cars) in reply 20 of this thread: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.p...ic=14666.0;all

Not that a tenth of an inch is going to make a huge difference, but I believe the distance from the original location (sans spoiler) to the new location with spoiler is 3.27, not 3.37. Propbably just a typo.

From CRG:"The Camaro trunk lid emblem was moved forward, up the trunk lid, from station 125.00 to station 121.73, a distance of 3.27 inches..."

On another note, on the early cars with spoilers, there are two sets of emblem holes;, but on LATER Z/28 cars with spoliers, I do not believe there are two sets of emblem holes. Only the uppers were pierced, so they did not have to tape, plug or fill the lower holes. My 08A Z has only one set of holes, in the upper position.

And I THOUGHT that is what we were commenting on; the difference between emblem placement on spoiler cars vs. non spoiler cars.
