Well, SoCal build May 67. I have the original protecto plate. Original owner shares his name with one of the main characters in the movie Shrek.

Factory ordered with 4.56 ratio and front drums....so clearly for drag racing

396 destroyed in 1969 and replaced with an L72 short block. Crashed in 1970, front end wiped out. Sold to second owner as a parts car. Third owner stored for decades until it was passed on to me on 2005. It has had a full ground up rebuild with the aim of keeping it as stock as possible. However, has a couple of subtle mods.

Will post more pictures in the next few days.

Bench seat with fold down arm rest. Strange option to order for a dedicated race car...and with deluxe interior. Nice options to be sure, just seems odd for what it seems to have been intended for.

I never knew the option existed before I got this car, so yes, a bit unusual. I know the original owner was street racing the car and perhaps thought the fold down arm rest offered a little more lateral support.

Friend bought a 67 Camaro SS 350 in 1976. Had a bench seat and a column shift automatic. Was a neat car. Gas cap was SS 350, so an early car?
