I'm confused, is a CE block, something aftermarket? is the engine not the "born with" engine?
what happened to the original engine/trans?

"I will say that the only reason I do not call this SS427 a "survivor" is the replacement driveline" From the ad.

Correct, CE (counter exchange / chevrolet engine etc) is not the born with engine. This is a (somewhat) date correct replacement engine. Original owner liked to drag race (see pics) and blew the engine. Don't know if it was replaced under warranty or he had to buy it. Chris might know. That, the rims and the hood needing a repaint are the only reasons this is not a "true" survivor. But it's pretty darn original and a triple black car with paper and history.

Oh, and it's not 62k either

EDIT- Ok I see now, Classic Car Deals is Auto Trader. 49k huh? Some one should jump on this for my sale price!

From the origial owner, when i got it,it didnt run like it should so i ran it up in 3rd gear hard, spun 2 rods, dealer repalced crankshaft and 2 rods,it still didnt suit me and plus it now leaked oil. Next time i took it out,i finished it off and they had to replace shortblock.this was in april 67. Then his wife put an end to the racing, she told me "it was a $4k car and the nicest car we owned,we were still young ,the racing was over.it beacame his tow car for a 55 chevy race car he built.the 55 is still here locally also. She then proceeeded to make it her daily driver for the next 17 years. In 1990 it started to smoke due to a busted ring land and set on their carport for years.
I bought the car in 2012 or so,i done a complete brake job,had engine rebuilt and drove it everywhere.it never let me down, not once

... That sounds like a real solid car and would be a blast to drive!

Good luck with the sale.

Yes sir. Just got back in town from Mardi Gras break. I just got a few PM's as well when I got back, so to be fair to everyone, the current reduced price is $34,500.00 and is the bottom dollar. First come first serve.

No way you could ever get into a triple black SS427 even with the CE motor at this price point. If you've ever wanted one of these, this is the time.

That’s a really good price for that car Rich! They say... Never ask a question that you don’t want the answer to. I shouldn’t have asked that right now because it’s bad timing for me! I missed out on this car once already, I just want to keep track of who owns it so I can own it one day.

It pains me to say it, but good luck on your sale, eh!

I agree. With the markets sucking and our dollar following that, just can't do it on these right now. PLUS I'm in the middle of getting my other 3 upgrade and road worthy again. Which means I building 2 motors and all kinds of other stuff going on.

I too missed out on this one last time and "should" jump on this and another 2 cars I know. Just can't right now.

Good luck with the sale. Keep us posted.
