Default 1969 L78/M40 Nova Restoration Project

Hi guys,

I restored a '69 L78 Nova over the past few years after buying the project car off of this site and in showing the car, I met another guy locally (Seattle area) that acquired a similar '69 L78/M40 Nova project.

He tackled this restoration by rebuilding the engine and transmission and getting it drivable, but has other projects on his plate so he is ready to part with this and let someone else finish the car.

The car is a 54,000 mile original 1969 Nova SS with "born with" L78 and CX-code TH 400 transmission. Original owner is still alive and Seller can put you in touch with him. The original paperwork is long gone and while the Seller found a few buildsheets (data broadcast copy cards) in the car, not one was actually for this car. However, the original untouched VIN stampings are still on the engine and transmission and readable. The rear end is also believed to be original to the car.

Car is a 12D build, original Cortez Silver code 69 69, with standard 731 interior, original floormat, etc.

Car sat for many years until the Seller acquired it, had the engine and trans rebuilt, fixed the brakes and got it drivable. Otherwise, needs complete restoration or enjoy it for what it is with all patina and original finishes. Engine has headers and is missing exhaust manifolds and Smog system. Trunk pan will need to be replaced due to rust through as well as rear tail panel. Quarter panels, doors and fender bottoms also have rust. For you or a good body man to determine if they need full replacement or just patch panels.

I am listing this for the Seller who has become a friend of mine as when he mentioned he was going to sell this car, I thought someone on Yenko.net would be the best candidate to buy it and take it the rest of the way.

Again, original drivetrain, L78/M40 '69 Nova with stampings in place, but no paperwork. Original owner still alive and available to talk to.

I can put you in touch with the Seller for additional questions to answer. Several original parts that came with the car such as 6-bolt torque converter, flexplate and other original parts will also go with the car.

ASKING $30,000

Contact me at 206-310-2153 or [email protected] and I'll get you in touch with the Seller if you're a serious Buyer on this.

The engine runs great as does the transmission, so some of the big $$$ has already been spent. Thanks for looking.

Paul

<span style="font-weight: bold">PRICE DROP TO $26,500</span>

Car runs incredibly well, makes tons of power. The expensive drivetrain work is done. Original L78 and CX400 are professionally rebuilt and run strong.

All you need to do is paint and body or leave it in its survivor patina.

Thanks,

Paul

The axle and all the drivetrain is original to the car. The axle is a BT code 3.55 12 bolt positraction.
