My guess is you could contact Parris Island directly and I doubt it's a new request. All their numbers can be found on Google. The main number will direct you where you need I'm sure.

edit: from MCRD's website. It sounds like eBay might be your best bet now.

17. How do I get a copy of my platoon photo from recruit training? Top
Group photos of platoons are permanently archived, although some have been lost or destroyed over the years. Call the recruit photo office at 843-228-1555 for information on ordering reprints. Please have as much information as possible, including the platoon, company, battalion and graduation date.

18. How do I get a copy of my yearbook-style platoon graduation books? Top
The yearbook-style platoon graduation books are only available for order/purchase before and around the graduation date. Copies are not overproduced for future availability, nor are extra copies archived. Those searching for old books are advised to search online auction or classified sales sites, or seek out reunion groups or other members of the unit for anyone who might have an extra copy.

Thanks Dave and Pete!
I appreciate your responses. l'll start shuffling through old papers to get the platoon number and go from there. I kinda remember on the Island sending back home a brochure of sorts from the chaplain saying; "we were doing well in training and there would not be too much correspondence coming back from the recruits for a bit."
Funny, but after many years, I can still remember the 3 DIs and their names.
They were hard mudder flubbers to say the least, but after graduating from Basic Training on the island, as I was leaving the Island, I had tears in my eyes.
The drill instructors were hard as nails, but they definitely woke my rear end up in a very quick and positive sense.
Thanks gentlemen!!
