Default 70 Z/28 for 70K?

this car is local to me and i kind of know who the owner is. what makes this car so special for 70K? Am i missing something here?
was the high spoiler avaialable for this in 70 1/2?

craigslist description:
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Fully restored 1970 Camaro Z28 with the highly desirable Rally Sport option. The 1970 was a partial year production and the only year of the second generation Camaros which offered the 360 HP LT 1 engine from the factory. They were detuned to 330 HP in 1971.

This particular car was originally a California car on which we did a rotisserie restoration. Other options beside the Z28 and Rally Sport options include a beige deluxe interior with console delete, 4 speed
transmission and the high rear spoiler option. The paint is the factory original color of Garnet Red with Black racing stripes. All the factory California smog equipment is in place and operational as original. We have paperwork showing original California title.

This is the only one of these second generation Camaros I have seen in this most desirable color with these options and equipment. For more pictures and info please go to www.Platinumclassiccars.com Thank you for your interest

Poorly restored. Not high dollar caliber. If its &quot;Garnet&quot; red than that is even worse.

For 70k I would expect the correct shifter.

If you're asking because you're in the market, I know someone with a 70 RS/Z that IS restored to the highest quality and correctness. 100% numbers matching, documented, award winner. And it's a lot less money than this one.

Yeah, I could not belive that add when I saw it myself. Way too much for that car. Lots of little things wrong with it.

Garnet red was 1969 only and there is no such thing as a console delete.... the console was optional RPO D55 and cost 59 bucks.

Hard to tell shade from pictures, but it may in fact be painted
Cranberry Red (correct name for red in 70-72).

COPO Option (spoilers) was offered late in model year (around May). No way to verify original 70'COPO's other than Norwood Build Sheet.

Maybe Phil B can comment.

me and some friends saw this ad... and really scratched our heads. the owner is local business man who i wouldnt trust with a matchbox. and hes had collector cars before.. but most were marginal at best. so i had to show this and get a better opinion. as my knowledge base is limited on 2nd gens.
