I can disconnect myself when I go to the kitchen but being off the O2 definitely wears me out very quickly.

So my son (God Bless him) does all the shopping and anything needed outside of the home.

I've lost 12 pounds since my ordeal started (Yippee!) but my appetite is slowing coming back.

I did some monkeying around with the O2 hoses they gave me so now I have one that reaches not only anywhere in my bedroom but also into my bathroom. That helps alot.

The doctor says be positive about healing but it's going to take time - like months. That sucks because I can no longer drive my car. I can but it requires I put this big O2 tank in the back seat so I am on O2 while driving - not worth the effort. Oh well.

Lee....just a thought, have you looked into the small portable machines that generate oxygen? I've seen them advertised on TV, they're not very big, about the size of a womans purse, and run on battery power so you're free to go where ever you want. Supposedly covered by insurance and Medicare as well. May be a good alternative for you until you're healed and don't need oxygen any more.

Those are very expensive - like $2500. But I will look into them to see if Medicare will pay for one. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

What about swapping out the O2 tank for Nitrous? That might give you a bit more zip!

Plus - maybe you could do the "purge" out your nose, for a cool effect.

In all seriousness - get better, and thank you for all you do.

As you know, Fort Knox is located within an army base. So is Fort Knox guarded by the U S Army?

No. Fort Knox is guarded by the U S Mint Police, one of the oldest federal law enforcement agencies. It was established in 1792.

Only one US president has ever set foot within Fort Knox - the president who commissioned it's building: President Franklin D. Roosevelt commissioned the construction of Fort Knox in the mid-1930s, reportedly because the Treasury worried that U.S. gold reserves weren't safe from an enemy invasion.

He traveled to Fort Knox to make an inspection in 1943, about seven years after construction on the vault was completed.
