Dodge’s Electric Muscle Cars Are Delayed

Quote:
Dodge is being both brave and stunning, charging headlong into the “electric future” of the auto industry, collecting accolades from automotive journalists and people who hate cars. Actually, it would be more accurate to say Dodge is stumbling into electrification, if a report from Autoline Daily holds any credibility. They claim Dodge is delaying the launch of its all-electric EV muscle cars.

Autoline says Auto Forecast Solutions is projecting the new all-electric Dodge Charger and Challenger will be pushed back. Originally, the two muscle cars were going to start rolling off assembly lines in Windsor as of August of 2024. Reportedly, that goal has been pushed to February of 2025. That’s right, there already are delays for the e-muscle cars and we wouldn’t be surprised if more are coming.

Only the Caprice models had the optional hidden headlites in 1968. If you see them on an Impala or Impala SS - they are addons - not factory built.

Just ordered this. It will tell me what my O2 level is in my blood. Good to know when I am not on 02 -like a short trip to the store. It arrives Monday the 26th.

I do know that with me the second I stop inhaling 02, my blood level immediatelly drops. And the opposite holds true when I start inhaling 02.

They just layed off the entire staff of Challenger/Charger/300 Brampton assembly plant workers on Friday 9/23/22 because they ran out of some critical single supplier, parts for the cars. Tentatively scheduled to reopen in late October. But there are thousands of 2022 orders still unfulfilled for people who ordered their Hellcats as far back as last December 2021 after their previous 2021 orders were cancelled!!!

https://moparinsiders.com/brampton-a...art-shortages/

So maybe 2023 won't be the final year for the Hellcats? Or they just shut it down now and never reopen it? This has been the second shut down. A few months back they had to stop making any of the widebody Challengers because the single source suppler of the fender flares shipped defective components and they refused to use them on the cars. (That's actually why my narrow body car got built so quickly - 6 weeks from order to build - because it didn't have any flares)

There was usually about a 3 year lead time from first styling to actual production cars. Considering the Toronado was rolled out in Sept 65 as a 66, that would mean the styling was done earlier that the Thunderbird shown.
