Default CERV engine at MCACN

Hi....anyone know the story on this engine?

I know CERV I didn't have turbos, but this one looked like it did, so that would point to CERV III, I think. But CERV III doesn't seem to be from the same era as the cars at MCACN.....anyone know details? Thanks!

I didn't think CERV I had turbos either unless they were added for a later test. Those are 1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire Turbos, Induction looks to have had some type of fuel injection. Compare the CERV 1 turbos to my stock 1963 Turbo, same factory turbos, just double on a custom manifold:

----They are very similar turbos to the 62/63 Olds Jetfires, but they are probably a much higher boost than the 5 pounds that the Jetfires had. The boost is internally adjusted with different strength springs and a sort of pop-off valve. The intakes are for Weber sidedrafts. Fairly big ones too. Cool thing is the aluminum block, dated 1961 and the aluminum heads with similar dates.......Bill S

I would think GM would like that in there collection, if they do not have one. That is a museum piece.
