Default 12 Bolt Posi Questions

1. Anyone ever seen a 12 bolt posi without the E below the assembly date?
2. Was the application code and the date code stamped at the same time? I just looked at a 12 bolt that had the app code real heavy, and the date code stamped lighter. It did not have the E.

Default Re: 12 Bolt Posi Questions

The vast majority of Chevelles I have done did NOT have the Positraction code (E, D or W) stamped under them. All had the codes, dates and shift however.

It is my understanding that all the codes were stamped at the same time (meaning same day). However, I often see the first two or three letters out of line from the the date code which makes me think the date and shift codes were gang stamped while the code stamp may have been done individually as they are often skewed.
