69 Camaro Rocker Sill Color
Have a clients Garnet Red 69Z car - his rockers are painted body color and i believe they should be satin black. I know some body color cars, like Fathom Green, Black all use the body color on the rocker, but where does Garnet Red fall under?
Rocker get painted black or stay body color?

Only Camaros built with the Z21 Style Trim option [included on Rally-Sport] received black painted rockers. Certain colors were excluded: 51 Dusk Blue 57 Fathom Green 61 Burnished Brown 67 Burgundy. Within these parameters, Garnet Red would have black rockers. The bottom of the rockers were not painted black; just the vertical surfaces.
The level of gloss is and will always be a topic of discussion. When I did my last Z/28-RS I examined several original paint cars. To me, they all appeared to be painted in gloss black lacquer that was not polished. Quickly looks dull. Last edited by William; 10-06-2017 at 11:13 AM. |

Cortez Silver X77, body color rockers.
Not all style trim cars received black rockers; certain colors excluded. Last edited by William; 10-05-2017 at 11:56 PM. |
