Would someone explain how the seller protects himself.......on price with a no reserve, when he obviously values the part for much more $$$ than $9.99 ??????

Re: 1967 Camaro RS grille GM NOS (read) !!
Rolling the dice. He is taking a gamble and should be commended for taking the risk. Clearly if he values the part at more than $9.99 he is confident it will sell for more than that. It is like investing money. What is your aversion for risk? If you have a low aversion for risk, a no reserve auction is not for you. If risk is your cup of tea, a high aversion/no reserve it is.

Re: 1967 Camaro RS grille GM NOS (read) !!
Its really a roll of the dice. I do mostly no reserve auctions. Lately, I have had a few parts sell well under what I believed was their value. That is the risk of runing an auction with no reserve. I have been placing reserves on some items lately but really like the no reserve platform best. The problem is most buyers wait for the last second to bid these days. It causes a problem with the no reserve type of auction.

[/ QUOTE ] Like most people do with no reserve auctions on expensive parts, end the auction early. I'm not saying that Rob will do this but it happens all the time. James

This discussion should be moved to the lounge. The topic is the grill, not no reserve auctions.

Re: 1967 Camaro RS grille GM NOS (read) !!
First of all let me start off with I list all my auctions for $9.99 with no reserve price. I listed this grille several months ago and was swarmed with buy it now prices emails. I have relisted the grille at this time to resell it so to save me all the buy it now emails I added one. I sold this grille several months ago for over a $1000.00 but the buyer was not satisfied and I refunded his money he said It was not advertized correctly. I have revised the ad if you want to read the reason. Robby
