Default Oklahoma Junkyard Z16

Around 2001 or 2002, pictures were posted on the Chevelle forum of a very sad looking red Z16 in a junkyard in Oklahoma. A green 68 Impala SS427 was also in the pics. I have searched all over for the pics but can't find them. Did anyone on here save those pics from back then?

I bought the car last year, but it had been moved since those 2001/2002 pics were taken. I would like to have the pics of it out in the scrap yard, if they can be found. If anyone can help please send me a PM.

Thanks! - Jeff

I would love to see both car photos as well. I do not recall them but sounds really interesting.

Did you try the Cars in Barns website? That site is a collection point for those types of photos.

Wow! I found the front clip to a red one in a junk yard in Coon Rapids, MN in 1981. The car had been crushed two weeks earlier but the yard still had the engine. I bought a 427 engine from them instead. Who knew. Jeff, if you have the VIN list, see if there were any known and never found red Z16's in MN around that time.

Love those z16 Chevelle’s.. One was driven to our HS spring of 66 to pick up a girl. Red with red gut and sold out of Ammon r Smith. Believe it was the 4th one shipped to dealers.

No, that one was in GA, in a field behind someone's house. It has since been frame-off restored and has recently changed hands a couple times.

Those pics actually look REALLY GOOD compared to the one I got!! On the bright side though, the rear trim and speedo had been removed and stored inside since 1974. They are MINT! Frame is very nice. Body is fixable, will just take a lot of work!

Thanks
