Default '66 Buick Gran Sport, Factory 401/4-speed

I bought a '66 4-speed GS convertible from the original owner when I was 18, and learned a lot from fixing that car...so I have a bit of a soft spot for these. This one looks a little rough around the edges and I wouldn't have any interest if it weren't a manual trans car...one of 2199 produced in '66...relatively scarce car, and a heck of a lot more fun than the 2-speed automatic ordered on most of these.

i have a 65 4 speed car now thats so ruff its just about a parts car, but i just cant chop it up..so complete numbers car..

my first GS was a turquois 66 auto car, then i bought a real 4 speed GS vert with a/c very rare..i have a few 66s sitting around now, and another 65 auto car...

i call myself a Pontiac guy with Buicks and Oldsmobiles, but ive always gravitated to 66 GS Buicks..id rather have one of them than any 66 or 67 GTO

Awesome! Man I remember building the 401 in stages because EVERYTHING seemed to cost 2-4x what a SBC would have cost to rebuild. Loved that car, drove it across the country once and back and forth a few times between LA and northern Nevada. Had power windows and the 4-speed and Posi and that was pretty much it for options.

I bought it from a dentist in the San Fernando valley, just a really cool dude. He drove me from his house to where the GS was stored in his ‘66 Electra 225 and blew a few lights along the way, thought I was going to die on that trip....

Then I towed it back from Northridge to Claremont with a tow bar attached to my old land cruiser, and almost died on that trip getting it home!

Fun to reminisce....

This one has been relisted - with a $15k buy-it-now. Seller's description sure makes it sound like paint will be in your immediate future if you take the plunge:

I have a soft spot for old Buicks as well. Worked at a Buick dealership in the 70's.

Don't know that I will ever add a Buick to the stable (can't really count the Opel GT as a Buick) but, at $10k, this one would sure be tempting if I were in the market.

Those seats look incredibly comfy, super fat/thick. Gas it and go, leave as is
