Cragar ss
When/what year did the "R" appear on the Cragar center caps? I have a pair of 15x4's from 1974 and wonder if they get the "R" cap or not.
Thanks guys! Sam Last edited by Salvatore; 03-29-2020 at 01:02 AM. |

I asked David Siltman and he thinks it was in about 71/72 when the R caps were introduced. If you need some Sam, I have a mint set of 4 here I think?
Most people will add the non R caps to achieve to period look of 69 to 70 even with later dated wheels as long as the hoops and spoke designs are the right round looking ones.

I have NOS sets of both Graeme. I am just not sure if the non R caps go on a 1974 Cragar mag. If 1972 or so is the break off then the "R" version goes on my wheels.
Thanks guys |

It has the R shown (R = Registered trademark) Non R do not have that on cap
