Default 70 Nova Yenko 427?

Did Yenko Chevrolet modify any L/78 70 Nova's with a 427 Short block, similar to 68 Camaro transformation?

There was a Fathom Green 427 Yenko Nova at the reunion in 2007. I remember speaking with the owner. I believe it changed hands a few years later for big $$$.

Don't remember if it was a 69 or a 70.

Post 70 Yenko Nova Conversion...

It is generally accepted that Yenko modified a number of 69 L78 Novas with the 427 engine. The total number scheduled for the conversion was about 37...though the actual number done was less.

Many of the high performance dealers back then would do just about any conversion a customer wanted to pay for...so a 70 with a 427 is certainly possible.

Fathom Green was a 69 color...not available in 1970. There are a few Fathom Green cars listed on the SYC Yenko inventory...code 57.

Hope that helps...

Around '90 or thereabouts, we saw a display at a local swap meet/show that featured a '69 nova, '69 camaro, and '69 chevelle Yenko 427s.....all in lemans blue/white stripes. Those memories kinda stick with you.
Disclaimer, all this was somewhat new to me at that time and we were all just taken gack by the display, no concerns if they were legit.
