Default 837 alternator

I'd like to hear opinions on this 837 alternator's stamping.

I say no good. Look carefully at the 37 in the 837.

The entire 1100837 37A stamp matches what I have.

If you were going to re-stamp one would you pick a date that 'wasn't known'?

William can you post your stamp example. I've seen other anomaly's but when I see two or more alike I either accept it as real or suspect its the same re-stampers work.

I'm pretty sure I see the remnants of a 4.

Yes, it's done frequently, I have pic's of some.
Just like mistakes and bogus info on repop trim tags.
