Default Gas cap resto

Planning to re-plate my original gas cap. Is there a source for a replacement fiber seal or do I need to be extra careful digging mine out?

It is a fiber seal, and the hole is large enough to fish it out and install a new one, I have just used fiber gasket material of the correct thickness and cut to match the one I removed.
