Default 1970 Chevelle SS L89

So gents, I am trying to find validation that there were 18 SS 396 L89 cars built early in the 1970 model year.

I have the letter cancelling the option in favor of the LS6.

I have a pic of the green car that was on display at MCACN in the L89 Invitational display.

I need a little more info.

I need this to determine if the car would be eligible to run at in the FAST series.

Thanks in advance,

Donny

Highlights of Dale’s page as below pic
Whenever I read these #’s, LS6 production always seems high...especially compared to values now?

The notes on the bottom of the chart explain why LS-5 is not listed. It is base engine of the Z-15 option therefore was not a standalone option. The LS-6 was an option together with the Z-15 option.

Everything I have seen or heard says 18 1970 L89 Chevelles built. That gold one I had in the L89 display is under re-restoration bringing it to the highest level.
