Looking for a 78 trans am. Must be low mile original and not needing resto. Must be black /auto/ttops. Interior can be black or tan

I actually have a black/ black loaded 4 speed 79. Need a 77 or 78 for sentimental reasons.

I thought 77 was first year for 6.6 w72,not 78..??

Correct, but 1978-1979 had the good 481988 XX block which is a thicker casting than the 1977 500557 thin-wall. Plus there were cam changes and induction system tweaks which meant 220 horse versus 1977 200 horse. The 481988 XX blocks are in 8 and 9 second Pontiac drag racers running today.

And no WS6 in 1977 available, only 1978-79, which makes a decent-handling car a REALLY decent- handling car.

You're not running 14s in a stock '77, ....no way, no how. Completely different engine.
