Default 1970 Custom Camper Black/Red Big Block

I will not be able to get to this project for another year or two and do not like to let them sit. Finishing up two other restorations at the moment. This would make a very cool tow rig restored to original. It is a fairly rare truck. Factory black exterior and red interior. It is a factory wood bed truck and woodgrain moldings with white steel wheels. Factory 402 big block/turbo 400 truck. The vin plate, blue door sticker and SPID all match the Washington State Title. I think this truck would look very sharp restored to how it looked when new. I have not ran across another factory Black with Red Interior 67-72 but, I'm sure they are out there.

Truck has been parked for years. It has all the typical 67-72 rust minus roof rail rust. The tailgate is also remarkably rust free. No pin holes. Truck did have a slide in camper for years so the tailgate was probably off of it for some time. The rockers, outer floors, cowl corners, fender cups, passenger side core support/inner fender and door bottoms will all need rust repair. Dash radio hole is uncut.

Shipping will probably cost $500-$1800 depending on where you are located. I can meet your shipper at Tacoma Narrows Airport.

Location: Fox Island, Washington
Price: $3,500

Great options and colors! If only if were a stick...

Good luck!

I prefer an auto for a tow vehicle. Pretty easy to put in a 4L80E trans and have OD!!!

Besides, if it were a stick, I am pretty sure it would have the NP tranny with a granny gear.

Guessing 3.73 rear screw or even a 4.10?

Great Truck in the best colors.
Years ago we owned a beautiful one owner original survivor in Crocus Yellow/white over saddle.

GLWS - FWIW it will tow near anything you can hook behind it.

I restored a similar Custom Camper/20 last summer.
Only this one was a 1969 396

We did a custom Blue and Silver 2 tone.
A great truck!

I hate the way those trucks rusted so badly. My Dad bought a '67 C10 new that was Black over Red. Mighty 283, 3 on the tree. He let it get embarrassingly rusted before he bought a new '76. Only 9 years old and looked like crap. The '76 was worse.

Beautiful truck Postsedan! I’ve done 5 67-72 trucks and I ended up replacing rockers, cab corners, door bottoms, kick panels, fender cups, core support, inner fender on all of them. Even the “rust free” ones. I quickly learned there was no such thing. Either they’ve already been fixed, bondoed or we’re slowly rusting from the inside out. The edp panels offer better protection than factory and I coat them all on the inside with Por15. I’m finishing up a 72 Blazer Highlander and I’ve replaced almost everything except for firewall and windshield frame. People thought I was crazy when I paid $12k for it 7 years ago but, looks like I’ll get the last laugh with how crazy prices have gotten.

Cool Black/Red truck in the original post for sale! I like it too!

Were the SPID forms typed individually each time? The typo has me curious...

GLWS!
Anthony
