Wow, great story and well worth the time to read. Surely all of us can identify with this story and remember the good times with our cars in the old days (some older than others). Loved the "this is how you learn things" quips too. Here's my '62--in 1/25 scale. Original AMT kit from 1962 put together carefully with no paint. My neighbor had a '62 Impala convert when I was a little kid (late '60s) that he bought new and it must have had resonators because it had a great sound. It was a non-SS 283/PG, white/blue interior/white top, full wheelcovers. I've been crazy about '62s ever since!

Hey Verne, That is a bad a$$ car my man! You are truly a living legend with the 409's! Spoke to your buddy Ronnie for a good while at the WalMart show Sunday. Had his gold anniversary car there. LOve to see your car in person!

Couldn't possibly say it any better. I knew this one would be worth the wait. Cool story; Cool car, and a purty neet owner too!

I have a great memory of a triple Black '62 '09/'09 car. One of my Dad's friends bought the car new and used to go boating with us occasionally. Every so often we would make a run to the local Burger Chef for some sandwiches after a day of skiing on the lake. One day Dave threw me the keys to the '62 and told me to take it to the drive-in. One helluva thrill for a 16 year old kid,........... and one I'll never forget.
BTW, that same guy, David Graham, is the one who brought his original owner '55 Convert to our Dragway Reunion this year. Unfortunately, the '62 is history.
