Very Cool '65 Malibu SS Barn Car, #s 327/4-sp, Tach, Dashtop Clock, Danube Blue
I love this car...obviously needs work, but it was ordered in one of the best colors for '65, has the 300hp engine, and the cool dashtop clock (and never mind all the great docs). Cool car and worth the cost of restoration IMO.

Except the tach, that car is a twin to my first car. Neat....Joe

DANG, wish I hadn't seen this. The "I want" meter isn't even bouncing...the needle is hard against the peg, even with the extensive rust issues. This is how I earned my forum handle... I have Too Many Projects already...
You're right Tony, it deserves to be resurrected. I need to get back outside and work on my new shed to forget about cars...

How in the heck does the shifter shaft turn to solid rust but the reverse pull-up thingy and knob stay looking nice?
edit: Duh, just occurred to me, they're probably plastic.....guess I always assumed they were metal With all that original documentation, it would sure be a shame if the original engine is junk.

----After thinking about this I'm guessing this Chevelle was in a flood. Not sure I'm right but it sure looks like it under the hood.....Bill S

It all looks perfectly normal for a car that spent it's life in a winter salt bath state and then left to sit and rot. My dad's 1966 Chevelle he bought new looked just like this after 10 years of use...

No plastic on the shifter. The tube is, most likely, flash chromed and the finger pull is pot metal, which would require a better chroming procedure. It does look weird though. It must have sat in a humid environment. The rust on the instrument panel is a concern. As bad as the quarters, trunk floor and tail panel are rusted, I'd bet the frame is damaged as well.

Thanks, Mitch. I bet you're right, this is gonna be one of those cars that the deeper you dig into it, the worse it gets

Sold for $13,600. I watched this to the end and was a little surprised it didn't go to 15k, the way bidding had gone early on.
Even at the selling price, the new owner will need to do much of the restoration themselves, or they will be upside down in a hurry. Beautiful car when done, but a shop resto would be much more than it would bring back in.
