Default '72 LT-1 Corvette,17k-mile survivor, orig Mille Miglia Red paint, nice docs

I've said it before...there are evidently quite a few extremely nice LT-1 Corvettes out there in survivor condition. I haven't seen this particular car on the market before, but it looks pretty extraordinary.

Yes that is a nice car for sure. Would love to inspect it in person.

Should go for good money. But, LT1's never reached the pinnacle they should have. Always in the shadow of the BB cars, very under rated. A 72 LT1 versus a 72 BB, manual and same rear end ratio usually quicker in the 1/4 mile.
A lot nicer to drive than a BB, more agile. Contrary to what the seller says, most came with power steering.

It’s an overlooked fact that the LT1 engine option was actually more expensive than the 454 LS5 engine. Not just by a little bit either, it’s a substantial difference!

I'm a rejuvenated fan of the LT1 Corvette. These are cool cars, especially the ZR1 if you can find one.

----My 70 LT1 that I bought new ran 12.90's shortly after I bought it with headers, and borrowed to tall slicks, with a 3.70 gear. Literally no tuning what so ever. The slicks were so tall I ran thru the traps in third! That's fact and at the time surprised the hell out of me. Still does!.....Bill S

Bill, I wish you had pictures of that car....I know I saw a bunch of your pictures a few years ago in Rosemont, was that the one that you changed to color on?

I had a buddy in Indiana with a 70 LT1 radio delete car with headers and 4.11's ran low 12's. He ran it at a small strip north of Kokomo... His son has the car now. I set the solid lifters one night in the hotel parking lot at the NCCC convention. The class record for solid lifter small blocks at that time was in the high 11's!!!!
