Default Somernites Cruise, Somerset, Ky.

I went to the season end cruise at Somerset yesterday. It was F Body month. There were 1,185 cars entered in the cruise area and over 1,800 cars in the weekends events.
These pics are of my white car and my two running buddies cars. Mark’s 68 Street Built big block gold car and Bill’s real deal 69Z.

Default Roy

All my life. He sat with us and talked all afternoon. Half the guys at the cruise stop to say hello to him. Great guy!

Glad to see that is still going on.

My wife and I used to drive down for that all the time 15-20 years ago and always enjoyed it. Especially the small cruises that groups would go on during the weekend that added some fun to what would otherwise be a dull time just sitting around.
Cumberland Falls was one short cruise from Somerset that I remember.
I also remember an 1/8 mile dragstrip that a group of us would cruise to for a little fun grudge racing. Good times.

Default Sumernite Cruise

They cruised to Cumberland Falls this weekend. The strip you refer to is London Dragway. They gave away the 67 Camaro yesterday and the Gator Made trailer.
The cruise was established in 2001, twenty years running and all volunteer people from the area. They do a good job!

Very cool! Glad to hear they are still doing the other small cruises during the weekend. That was the whole attraction for us to attend. Cruising around and checking out the sites in a classic Some of the best cruise ins are the ones where you actually "drive" the cars. I still consider this cruise right up there with one of the best we've participated in.

We were regulars up until 2007 when we eventually moved to Arizona.

You are fortunate to have all that action at your finger tips. Looks like a great time.

Somerset is awesome. We usually make it down a couple times a year. Not as often as we'd like, but life happens sometimes. It's the best cruise-in in the region!

I started buying things from Roy, a long, long time ago, and then, after I got to know him, he started to invite me into the inner sanctum. We became friends, and any time I was in the area, I would stop in, just to hang out, or watch a UK basketball game. Great guy! Stopped driving up I 75 so much, and I haven't seen him in years.
