I got some parts in today including the correct vacuum advance can. My original was out to lunch you could say. The correct vacuum advance can is not as readily available as it once was. I did find a vendor that cataloged theirs for the high performance 327's, but it did not begin to pull at 4" of vacuum like these cars should.

I checked the new one pictured.........and voila!

The weights were gummed up with this grease (which I understand one should never do). Everything is cleaned, new points and condenser........set the dwell and on to the next item!

I guess I found my exhaust leak

Yeppers. Beats trying to gap points and readjust dwell in the car.

Tim,

I subscribed at the beginning of this thread, mainly because of the light yellow on black combination, I’m partial.

I started taking the front seats out decades ago to perform work under the dash as I felt like a pretzel 🥨 after exiting.

Curious, shouldn’t the Delco-Remy cap for this ‘65 be the “Patent Pending” only with the tall towers. No “R”, as I show below.

Yup, that vintage SUN distributor machine is really cool.

I enjoyed watching the work you did on that cool Black ‘64 FI awhile back and I’m watching this ‘65 getting dialed in.

Thanks for documenting, Chris
