For guys not familiar with these cars they are a transaxle car.To do the change over the floor has to be cut halfway up the firewall and then cut clear back to the front of the rear seat to fab a transmission and drive shaft tunnel. Then you have to fab some kind or rear suspension.I found after doing 3 of these cars ladder bars and coil over worked best for ease of installation. Some have done leaf springs but I found they have the car sit too high in the rear. Now you have to decide on a engine and trans. If the car is a 4 cyc car then motor mounts have to fabbed if a V8 car you just drop in any pontiac V8.Now if you want a stick shift the factory linkage is not up to the task IMO and the hyd bearing is the easiest.A trans mount has to fabbed also. These are a unibody car and Xtra work has to done where the rear suspension bolts up.As I said, not for the weak of wallet EVEN if you can do the fab work your self. Then you need to figure out how to stop the damn thing.Tom

It appears this Tempest is still for sale and now has an engine knock. It’s too bad cause it’s a pretty cool car.

Looks like a lot of work has been done to it since 2017.

And the new price reflects all those new parts. I hope he can recover most of it.

I have built 3 of those cars over the years.Depending on the paint its not a terrible price if you can live with the paint.Cant buy a car and build it for that.Tom
