If the seller is indeed fabricating some of his statements, he's really digging himself a hole.

I would normally sit by and just watch this ad but this guy is so full of crap. There is so many things that don't fit for this to be a low mileage same owner since 71 and some unlucky buyer is going to be pissed the first time a knowledgable person rips it for all the numerous changes since new. It has already bid higher the it deserves.

Does a BAT buyer have a resolution center, similar to eBay,should a car turn out to be not as advertised once he goes to pick up/pay?

i am surprised you guys don't have a special section for rare cars that are rebodied, restamped, ect, ect, seems like a good idea to blackmark phony cars. or is that unethical?

VIN should be down by oil filter. Lots of things dont add up to this being an 11K mile car.
Good to see people on that site who arent afraid to ask questions.

Seller just posted a picture of the VIN and Date stamp for the transmission. Shouldn't the date stamp for a 1970 model end in A,B, or C, depending on if it's M20, M21 or M22?

TBH, I probably shouldn't be the guy talking about strange transmission stamps, because the VIN stamp on my car's transmission makes no sense at all. And it is original to the car.

That transmission stamping looks like a restamp to me. The area where the numbers are stamped has been messed with.I also think an April dated trans is quite a bit too early for this 06B car
Heres the stamping in question:
