1972 Motion Chevelle - Rear End
I have provided some updates from today as the rear end is almost completed.
The traction bars and the remaining bolts, rear cover and shocks will go in this week and then onto the engine refresh. Enjoy, Mark |

1972 Motion Performance Chevelle project update
To the readers,
The work on the car is continuing as required and the rear end and the brakes are now in place. The next step is to rebuild the engine and put it back to when it was delivered by Motion in December 1971. The engine is in very good shape as it does not have many miles on it but I need to be safe. I have provided some pictures to illustrate the progress and to share with all the members... Enjoy, Mark |

1972 Motion Performance Chevelle - Project Update 2.15.2021
I want to provide an update on the activities that are associated with the restoration of my 1972 Baldwin Motion performance Chevelle. The project has been going fine as required to restore the car to the original condition and to honor the prior owner (Bob) who sold it to me.
This is a fun, costly and satisfying project researching parts to ensure the car meets the level of restoration to support the original build and purchase from December 1971. At this point, the brake system, rear end (4:88) and all required fuel and brake lines are in place as well the engine compartment. The Engine is out for all the necessary work (boil out, hone, polish the crank, bearings, rods and pistons cleaned) and the heads (springs, retainers, cut, seals) to meet specifications. The next steps are: 1.Clean and organize the Hone O Drive 2. Add brake fluid and bleed the system 3. Power Coat the Scatter Shield (white, yes white as the original picture and color remains) 4. Engine assembly (Mar. 2021) 5. Put in the original M22 which is already rebuilt 6. Install and align the Hone O Drive Thanks, and enjoy, Mark Last edited by thomam; 02-15-2021 at 10:04 PM. |

looks like someone added a MSD box. Did it have a Motion Phase III CD box when new?

I do not have the original phase III electronics. I will keep the upgrade and I made update the distributor. I think having newer electronics will be useful
Thanks Last edited by thomam; 02-19-2021 at 01:12 AM. |

Not sure what ignition box it came with new, but my 70 BM Chevelle had a gold colored Mark 10 ignition box. I've seen them on ebay from time to time.

looking at the original article , it shows the black finned Phase III CD box. Looks like it has the stock distributor because the vacuum canister and stock dist cap is showing.
The holes should still be there from the original CD box I think in 1972, Motion was selling both the black Phase III CD box and the gold Phase III CD box |
