Default 69 Mod Top 340 Barracuda sells for 7x estimate

Did anyone else find it surprising that Steven Julianos yellow Mod Top Barracuda bested most of his other Mopars by obliterating Mecum’s often-generous estimates and selling for $440,000 after buyers fees?

We all stood there in awe and could not believe it. Same for the cutaway engines.

I was outbid on several $50 banners, so I wasn't too surprised it went that high

Impressive.....

Cheers

I found it shocking but I'm not in the league that can even consider buying such vehicles.
I would have to assume that there must have been a few bidders that really wanted this car bad to drive the price up this high over estimate?

JMHO, as cool as that car is with that top - and I do think it's way cool - there's absolutely no way even if I had the money to play in the realm that I would pay that kind of cash. Congrats to the new owner as it definitely is a cool ride though.

I too feel that the selling price was a bit (insert adjective here).

But . . . this is not just a Mod Top car. It also has the matching interior (which was sourced from a shower curtain manufacturer in Brooklyn, NY)

I don't think his widow was hurting.
