WW again as it looks like this really is a Copo 9511 Z28!!!
Again the history of the car is key also amazing it exists but considering all this car was simply born as it's hard not to think of the day it rolled off the line, maybe THE sweetest combination of '69 parts the factory ever put together!
And endura too, unbelievable!!!

Hello again,

I just sent the pictures to m22Mike.

The rear is clearly the one that has been in the car since it was converted into a Trans am racer in 1969. The unique horizontal shocks and the welded tabs for these indicate that. However, the CASTING date on the rear appears to be an "8" rather than a 9, at least in my opinion. However, if it were a "9" then the assembly date " BW 0221 G2 " fits the car quite nicely. Naturally the cowl tag is long gone but as I recall the LA vin put the build date in mid March 1969.

The Motorcade magazine pictures do show the car while under construction with the rear end removed. In the background of two of the pictures one can see a rear axle with rotors. I suppose it is possible the original housing could have been changed at that time. While the "BW" code is 4:56's the Sports Car Graphic Magazine artical states the car as having 4:10's.

THANKS for all the interest and support.
