Default 1970 Camaro AM Radio

1970 Camaro AM radio No knobs, case is clean. Lense is nice, with no cracks- some light fading on the numbers.. This has not been tested and may need to be serviced. Includes speaker which needs to be re-coned and speaker bracket. $20.00 plus shipping.

I am interested in the radio, bracket and the speaker, do you have any info on the items that would identify it as a 1970 radio for the Camaro.

Al,

Unfortunately, the ID tag has fallen off. The only info I have is a number of knowledgeable people
have identified it as 1970 Camaro application. Maybe someone else who knows more about GM radios
could chime in. Sorry I could be of more help.

I apologize if I have misrepresented the radio and I will happily revise the ad. I did a bunch of research prior to posting, and I may be mistaken. Could someone who really knows radios help out to definitively id this radio?

Thanks

Elon

The true 70 Camaro AM FM radios I have had have blue top lenses while other 70 models have green top. The AMs are likely the same way. If you can read the numbers on the DS-501 transistor, that should date the radio for us.

School is now in session and I am learning all sorts of new things here.

Here is a site which can help to decode a Delco radio:
http://www.wonderbarman.com/codes.html

I also uncovered the tag on the side of the radio. It reads:

Service model no. 21APB2
Serial no. 1473548
Product no. 7933241

The ink stamp on the transistor is kind of blurry and difficult to read, even with my glasses and a magnifying glass. It is stamped as either 7219, or 7Z19?

The way I am decoding it looks like this:
Service model no. 21APB2

2 = 1972
1 = Chevrolet
A = Midsized: Tempest, Chevelle, Camaro, ChevyII, Acadian, Skylark/GS
PB =Push Button AM
(1, 2) on the end which indicates a running change or revision number.

Am I reading that correctly?

And Danny you are correct. The right main stud is missing. Good eyeballs.
I totally missed that.

I appreciate everyone's help.

Default 1972 Camaro AM Radio

Revised title to reflect proper application.

Sorry for the confusion.

I work in the semiconductor industry and the date on the transistor is YYWW. So the 7219 is 1972, 19th week. That is the week the transistor was assembled. Martin
