Condolences to his family. I didnt know him except from his postings on this site, which I always found interesting and looked forward to. I will also say anytime a thread was made about an early Impala I was always waiting for him to weigh in, the guy was an encyclopedia for them. Wish I could have known him better.

RIP Verne

All of us in this world will meet our maker, some sooner than later. I wish the good soul and a man of integrity of Verne was taken a lot later.

My sincere condolences to his friends and family- I always enjoyed talking with Vern- a true straight shooter!
When I went to visit him it was like going back in time to his old brick garage behind his house-very cool!
As said numerous times here a true loss to our hobby

Default Terrible News

I belong to several Muscle Car sites and I’m relatively new to this one, but all these sites have a group of enthusiasts that are very knowledgeable about the cars involved.
Out of those groups is typically one gentleman that stands above all.

That guy is Verne Frantz, especially with the 348/409 cars.

I would see guys seeking him out for “that” answer.
It would catch my eye when reading a thread about a 409 (really cool cars) and I would enjoy and learn from his response.

What a loss.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Regards, Chris Terry

I didn't know Verne or have any direct interactions with him here, but it's clear that he was well liked and respected. RIP.

Very sorry to hear this. Talked to Verne on a 335 horse 4 speed 60 Impala I owned years ago. Enjoyed talking to him.
