Default 70 Bench seat medallion measurement help

Can somebody please confirm via measurement where the front seat medallions on a '70 Chevelle split bench seat should be placed? I'm going to have my front bench seat redone and need to know how far down the front of the seat the medallion sits. I have been "told" by the upholstery shop measured from the top welt to the center of the emblem is 7 1/2". Can somebody please take a quick measurement and confirm?

A picture with a tape measure would really make my day. Thanks in advance.

Yep, 7 1/2" to the center. Stay tuned. I'll be back shortly with pics.

Wow, that is exactly what I needed, thank you so much! This board and its members are truly the best. Thank you Dennis. Nothing like the original (the car too).
