As good as the red car looks, I really like these in the lighter colors.

I read recently that GM built a new multi-million dollar paint dept for the new Vettes. I would assume they got the orange peel out of the new paint.

Look at the photos of the grey one and you can see it. I also looked at some on display in a glass room at Barrett-Jackson and they had it also. One would think you would put extra effort into a show car

I don't think it's the paint but the process. It's impossible to get perfect paint on a mass production car. Cars like Ferrari and Lambos can have someone color sand the paint if there's any imperfection or orange peel because they don't have hundreds of them coming down the line every day.

fwiw, the paint is much better than it used to be. It improved when they built the new paint shop a couple of years ago. Orange peel is still there but it has been reduced.

My 2017 GMC Terrain , black with light metalic has extremly nice paint and very minor peel. Many GM production cars in resent years look way better than most C6 and C7 Vettes I see. Just my observation.
